A prime-rated set and a standby-rated set of the same nominal size are different machines with different prices; specifying the wrong duty is the most common costly error in generator procurement.
Altitude and ambient temperature reduce usable output. Sizing should be checked against site conditions before order, not after commissioning.
Transfer equipment, cabling and the fuel system are frequently forgotten in the budget and then bought urgently at a premium.
Parts and service coverage in the destination market often matters more over ten years than the initial price difference between two brands.
